A fingerprint found at the Rhode Island hotel where an exotic dancer was held at gunpoint last week matches that of Philip Markoff, the medical student charged with killing a woman here whom he met through Craigslist, a law enforcement official with knowledge of the investigation said Thursday.
The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the match ensured that Mr. Markoff, 23, would be charged in the Rhode Island attack.
The victim, who had advertised services on Craigslist, told the police that she had been held at gunpoint by a man who demanded money but fled when her husband returned to their room at the Holiday Inn Express in Warwick.
