Sensex Surpasses 12000 First Time in Seven Months

The Sensex opened with a positive gap of 232 points at 11635 on the back of strong global cues.

Indian markets ended sharply higher Monday led by gains in frontline stocks from metals, IT, banks and capital goods space.

The Sensex finally ended with gain of 731 points at 12,135.

The market breadth was positive - out of 2,612 stocks traded, 1,771 advanced, 760 declined and 71 were unchanged today.
